Basic Life Support

The South Lyon Fire Department is a licensed by the state of Michigan to provide basic life support.  For any and all medical emergencies in the City of South Lyon, Rescue 7-1 responds and provides life-saving medical care to patients until a private ambulance arrives.

All South Lyon Fire personnel are trained and licensed by the state at the Basic EMT level.  Personnel are trained in CPR, basic adult and pediatric first aid, and basic medication administration (including oxygen delivery, assistance with nebulized medication, epi-pen administration, and assistance with Tylenol and Nitroglycerin prescribed to the patient.) In addition to the BLS personnel, a vehicle can also carry BLS equipment.

Captain Conrad has been with the department since 2014 and is a licensed EMS Instructor Coordinator.  She Instructs and/or coordinates all the internal EMT licensure continuing education trainings as well as CPR courses for the public.
